AI-SDR or paid search?

Both start conversations. Paid search catches people already looking; an AI-SDR starts conversations with people who aren't looking yet. Different directions, different timelines — here's the honest map, no winner declared.

AI-SDR

Who it reaches
People you chose — researched prospects who fit your business, contacted directly, whether or not they were searching for you.
What it builds
Outbound conversations: relevant first messages, disciplined follow-up, and a warm handoff to your team when someone's genuinely interested.
Speed
Conversations take shape over weeks of disciplined touches — outreach earns replies, it doesn't demand them.
Who it fits
Businesses that know exactly who their best customers are and need more of those specific conversations — especially where one new client matters a lot.

Paid search

Who it reaches
People already typing the problem into a search bar — existing demand, caught at the moment it expresses itself.
What it builds
Inbound clicks from high-intent moments: someone needs what you do, right now, and your name is the answer on the page.
Speed
Fast — clicks can start the day the campaign does. And they stop the day the budget does.
Who it fits
Businesses whose customers actively search for the service — urgent needs, clear search terms, decisions made quickly.

They stack. Paid search harvests the demand that already exists; the AI-SDR creates demand where there wasn't a search. A business that only runs search is capped at how many people are already looking.

What neither does

Neither fixes what happens after the click or the reply. If the website can't answer questions and nobody follows up fast, both channels pour interest into the same leaky bucket.
